"Through this blog, we also want to provide the public and our customers a better understanding of our organisation's changing work culture. Many people have mentioned that when they engage our employees, they find our employees motivated and driven. Employees in Malaysia Airlines are also dynamic and diverse, and this is something we should talk about," Malaysia Airlines Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer, Dato' Sri Idris Jala. The Living Malaysian Hospitality blog features stories on how employees are driving the airline's transformation as Malaysia Airlines steps up its BTP 2 amidst skyrocketing fuel prices. He also said, "Our employees are our best advocates and this blog captures the essence of how they are the ones driving the transformation. From the team of 4 engineers who, on their own time, created a management system which saved the company RM70 million to an accountant who improved the revenue accounting process in terms of speed and accuracy via lean process which is usually applied to manufacturing; to how the PSS team is simplifying passenger travel by rolling out eticketing, and providing more check-in options through kiosk and web check in."We are privileged to have these motivated and dedicated employees. Over the past two years, many of them have grown as influencers and leaders, with many taking the initiative to push the limits. Their stories inspire us to push on, amidst the tough challenges we are facing."The blog,www.malaysiaairlinesblog.com, is divided into 4 sections with the transformation stories and those of working in Malaysia Airlines under Sneak Peak, and travel tales as well as travel tips in Psst!. From our Guests provides a platform to share what customers think about the airline's services while corporate announcements are under Corporate Speak. He said, "The BTP2 is a unique experience for all of us in Malaysia Airlines. When we talk to our employees we consistently see passion, energy and drive. We also see employees working together towards bold and uncommon goals.""We are radically changing the way we run our business towards achieving our vision to be a Five-Star Value Carrier. Our employees are putting in a lot of effort to ensure that our products and services remain 5-Star; we are lowering our structural and operational cost, without compromising on safety and quality; and have begun transferring the cost savings to customers by offering low fares through Everyday Low Fares."The aim is to attract more customers, and with the increased revenue and profit, we can invest in growing our network, acquire more planes, and enable Malaysia Airlines to sustain profitable growth," said Jala. Two weeks ago, Idris announced the oneMH Employee Engagement Programme - a rally cry for the airline to Unite and Survive to Win in these challenging times."This blog will provide an added avenue to bring our employees together and strengthen the camaraderie ship amongst us. Transformation is absolutely vital for our survival. Much lies ahead but with leadership, teamwork and relentless passion to pursue our vision – we will succeed," he said.Source: Malaysia Airlines
