HOW TO COOK YOUR LIFE
Director: Doris Dorrie; 2006/7, 100min
Cast: Edward Espe Brown, Doris Doerrie
Move over Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance! Here comes Zen and the Art of a Good Meal! Doris Doerrie, fresh from her recent theatrical success, the carp-lover’s wet dream and relationship comedy The Fisherman and His Wife - Why Women Never Get Enough turns her attention to Buddhism and that age-old saying, you are what you eat. In How To Cook Your Life, Doerrie enlists the help of the charismatic Zen Master Edward Espe Brown to explain the guiding principles of Zen Buddhism as they apply to the preparation of food as well as life itself.
“How a person goes about dealing with the ingredients for his meals” explains Doerrie, “says a lot about him. How To Cook Your Life teaches us to be attentive in our everyday dealings with the most mundane things and also open our eyes to one of the most beautiful occupations there is: existing in the here and now. And cooking is also an integral part of this.”

ONE DAY IN EUROPE
Director: Hannes Stoehr; 2005, 95min
4 cities, 8 languages, and a wave of robberies on the day of the soccer’s champion league final… Welcome to Europe!
A light-hearted story about four colorful characters and the amusing misunderstanding that cross cultural communication often provides. Set in one day and taking place in different cities, language barriers are compounded by another chaos- the champion league finals. The film has a truly pan-European origin that is charming and down to earth.
The director received two award nominations at the Berlin International Film Festival (2005) and the Brussels European Film Festival (2005); the film was shown in 25 International Film Festivals worldwide.
